I started my career in advertising in Vietnam. Then I worked in Japan, in a language and culture that weren't mine. Then Australia, where I settled and kept going in advertising. I built a life. I found my footing.
A two-year role in Singapore was where things shifted. I joined a digital publishing startup right at the start of the digital advertising era and worked with six account teams across Southeast Asia. That's where I noticed it: I loved watching people grow. Not managing them. Not directing them. Just watching someone find their footing and run with it. Campaign briefs had never felt quite like that.
Then back to Vietnam to lead teams again. Then back to Australia, this time in marketing. Two decades. Four countries. A career that kept asking me to start over.

The turning point
I didn't notice what was happening to me.
Nobody tells you this part. It's not dramatic. It's gradual. You keep moving. You keep building. You keep showing up for everyone. Then one day you realise you can't remember the last decision you made that was purely yours.
In 2023, things shifted. I moved into carer coaching. I worked with people who give everything to others and quietly forget that support isn't weakness. Sitting with them, I saw what happens when the most giving people in the room finally get support themselves. It changes everything.
That, plus my formal coaching training as a certified Meta Dynamics™ Practitioner and Meta Dynamics™ Profiler Coach through the International Coaching Institute, gave my work a name.
YouLead Coaching was born in 2024.
